“Dear friends, Finally reached home safely. Had a good bath and now lying down trying to process what just happened over the last week. First of all, thanks to Rama for introducing us to Salil. When I first saw him on Zoom, I thought he looked like a very serious fellow and that this trip was going to be serious, educational… and probably boring. I was completely wrong. Salil, your enthusiasm is dangerous, in a good way. Your passion is so infectious that suddenly all of us became wildlife experts, photographers, and bird watchers within 48 hours. When you told us to buy binoculars, I thought you were joking. But the first time I saw a bird through them, I was amazed. After that we were all staring at birds like scientists, discussing when they fly, where they nest, and even when they poop! Lake Nakuru was a big eye-opener, so many birds I had never seen before. And on day one itself we saw lions, rhinos, giraffes, zebras… basically the entire wildlife attendance register. Maasai Mara completely changed my perception about animals. And thanks to David, our driver, for the thrilling off-roading, sometimes it felt like safari plus roller coaster. I think we should make this an annual safari ritual. Salil, I would also love to join you for some treks, and please count me in if you ever plan Congo or Amazon. Overall the week was fantastic, except for the return journey, which felt like a bonus adventure. What a trip! 🦁🌿📸”
